Lynsey Steel - Summer Faculty
Lynsey Steel has been dancing since the age of 4 and grew through the Royal Academy of Dance system, perfoming well in her examinations from pre-primary through Advanced One.
While training with Allegro West, Lynsey performed with Allegro Ballet of Houston and was able to perform throughout the Southwest region, Germany and Austria.
After high school, Lynsey attended the University of Oklahoma on a Ballet Performance scholarship.
There, she studied with Donn Edwards, Steve Brule, and Mary Margaret Holt.
She performed George Balanchine’s ‘Serenade’ and Petipa’s ‘La Bayadere‘ with Oklahoma Festival Ballet, as well as original works by Jeremy Lindberg.
Lynsey has been a member of Uptown Dance Company and Mix Tape Contemporary Company, performing works by notable choreographers including Chet Walker.
Lynsey has been teaching for 5 years and her students success has earned them scholarships to study across the world at top schools including The Bolshoi Ballet in Russia and School of American Ballet in NYC.
Lynsey won the Youth America Grand Prix ‘Outstanding Choreographer’ award in 2009 and the ‘Outstanding Teacher’ award in 2012.
